Let's get into it.
Booking process, support, and what happens after you say yes. Everything you need to know, in the order you'll need to know it.
What do we actually do as a company?
We build structured ski and snowboard training programmes with trusted resorts and coaching teams. Then we wrap everything around it: accommodation, lift passes, transfers, support, and guidance from the day you book to the day you land your first lesson.
We're not a call centre and we're not a marketplace. You deal with real people who actually know the courses. There are a lot of moving parts to your internship and it's our job to be the glue. Not the kind that sticks to everything and ends up on your hands for three days. The kind that holds it all together when the wheels look like they might be wobbling.
How does the rest of the booking process work?
In simple steps. If you haven't yet paid your £1,000 IEC deposit, please get that sorted as soon as you can. You won't be chased for it until your visa invite comes through, but once it does, we'll need it promptly. If there's a reason it hasn't happened, just let us know so we're not sitting in the dark.
Your four main tasks going forward:
Visas
Please don't lose track of this. Check your portal regularly for messages and your final approval Port of Entry letter. It's the kind of thing that sits quietly in the background and then becomes very noisy if you ignore it.
Insurance
There are two schools of thought on this. We cover it in detail below so you can make an educated decision on which camp you want to be in. Don't skip that section.
Equipment
Some of you are eligible for free skis, boards, or cashback for booking within the 7-day window. We'll tackle this early and apply the credit where it's due. We know who you are and the relevant forms are coming shortly.
Flights
Some quotes include flights and some don't. Check your quote if you're unsure. More on this below.
Do you book my flights?
Some quotes include flights and some don't. Check your quote to remind yourself of what was requested. If you're still in doubt, contact us rather than guess.
If flights are included, we secure them in good time as a group booking. Your individual ticket with your name on it will be sent out 2 to 3 weeks prior to departure. We can't do this any earlier due to the practices of our airlines and booking agents, and we're unable to share group flight information due to GDPR.
Once resorts confirm start dates, we'll update your onboarding page and let you know by email and WhatsApp.
When do you ask for the rest of the money?
Think of the onboarding process like a relay race. You've already passed the first baton. Your £300 deposit is in, your place is secured, and if you're reading this, you've hopefully also paid your £1,000 IEC deposit to complete the first stage.
You'll receive an updated booking confirmation over the next few days. It can take an extra day to show in our ATOL-bonded account compared to a standard bank transfer, so don't panic if it's not reflected immediately.
After that, the final balance is due 12 weeks before you fly. Those leaving in late November will need to pay in late August.
Lump sum
Pay the full remaining balance in one go, 12 weeks before departure. Simple and done.
Weekly standing order
Set up a weekly payment that quietly ticks away until two weeks before departure. If you'd prefer this, let us know and we'll set it up together.
Do you help with visas?
Yes, especially where a working visa is required. Most of you are well under way or have already completed this. For anyone still in the process who needs a hand, don't hesitate to contact Emma on WhatsApp: +44 7931 413041
If your visa application is unsuccessful, you have two options: a full refund, or transfer your deposit to a course option that doesn't require a working visa. If you're travelling purely to train rather than to work, the route is usually a lot simpler.
When should I get insurance sorted?
Nobody gets excited about insurance. But get this wrong and it can cost you thousands. If you injure yourself on day one and have to fly home, we've already paid your course fees out to third-party suppliers. Without the right policy, that money doesn't come back to you.
Read this first.
We've written a full guide covering exactly what to get, when to buy it, what WorkSafeBC covers (spoiler: more than you think), and the one mistake clients have consistently regretted.
It's not long. But it's the kind of thing you'll be glad you read before you clicked "buy" on a policy that looked fine on the surface and turned out to have a gap the size of a ski run.
What if I want to change resorts?
It's not always possible. We normally fill our positions in advance, so there's no guarantee. But there's no harm in asking and we'll tell you straight away what's doable. Once your name has been submitted to the resort, we can't shift your placement.
What should I expect over the next few months?
Onboarding isn't one big form and a prayer. It's a structured process that walks you through everything in stages, so it never feels like it all lands at once. Visas, insurance, kit, flights, accommodation, schedules. We've got guides, checklists, and a team behind you throughout.
Some of you will sail through it. Others will need a hand at certain points. That's fine. It's what we're here for.
We keep things fairly quiet in the first few weeks while exams are on. You don't need any distractions at that stage. But we'll be warming things up as the summer moves on. Try to pick the right person for the right task.
Anything course, clothing, equipment, training, or exam related. Basically anything enjoyable, or anything on fire. Call me.
Anything admin, booking, payments, insurance, or visa related. Basically anything requiring an analytical mind. Call Emma.
Anything fitness or nutrition related. She'll also be in touch about Online Store orders later in the summer.
A very dry sense of humour and a great member of the team. Rob will be bouncing between resorts alongside me.
Based in Canada and your point of contact on the ground once you're in resort. She's there to support you through the day-to-day when we're not physically present.
You'll notice new pages arriving on the website over the next couple of months, starting with your onboarding information. Just a heads up if things look a little different week to week.
