Why Martock
Earn And Save.
This is, hands down, the best place to get your foot in the door, and go from an indoor snow dome to a fully fledged, paid ski or snowboard instructor. It may not be your dream destination, but mixed in with 10 weeks at Revelstoke, it soon becomes a practical way onto the instructor pathway.

01The mountain
A Small Hill, Groomed And Lit For Teaching.
Ski Martock sits just outside Windsor, about 45 minutes from Halifax. It's a family hill, with 7 trails, 183m of vertical, a quad chair, a T-bar and a magic carpet, and full snowmaking.
It's known for its grooming, and every downhill trail is lit until 9pm. A small hill that's open twelve hours a day means one thing for an instructor: plenty of lessons.
The Learning Zone
Built For Beginners.
And a 2011 Canada Winter Games venue.
Martock's Learning Zone has sculpted terrain, a Burton Riglet Park and HeadStart areas, all made for first-timers.
For anyone on one of our Ski Martock ski instructor courses, that's where a lot of your teaching happens. In 2011 the hill also hosted the cross-country skiing at the Canada Winter Games.

04Halifax and around
A City On Your Doorstep.
Martock is a local hill, not a resort village. Life happens in Windsor, and Halifax is close enough for your days off.
Halifax.
Atlantic Canada's largest city, about 45 minutes by road, with the airport, the shops and the nights out.
Windsor.
The nearest town to the hill, and where most people live.
The Annapolis Valley.
Martock sits between Halifax, the Annapolis Valley and the South Shore.
The slush cup.
The end-of-season slush cup is one of the big days of the year.
Worth knowing
Not A Ski Town.
There's no village at the bottom of the lifts. You live in or near Windsor, and how you get to the hill depends on the house. In return, you're never far from a city.
